Good Question: I have no proof except it is a WWII made ribbon (modified by the wearer) and as with most Third Reich items, there are several varients. One is the type made by the Loy firm which features a very noticable orange cast to the red stripe ( mine has that orange look) Kai Winkler's site had an original for sale when I purchased mine. He was asking 800 Euros (dealer Price) and it was not in as good shape as mine. To get back to your question, I do not have proof but opinions same as most dealers have.
