Strange EK1 1914 marked L/16 - need your opinon!

Hello,

what is your opinion about this EK1?

The maker mark looks very strange.

It looks like the "L/" was strike after the "16" but the core seems to be an authentic 1914 S&L core.

What is your opinion?

You can find the same type in the EKI book by Maerz/Stimson page 182 that in my opinion is not good.
