    L/13 Meybauer to view...

You either like a core in this condition, or you don't. I like the spidering very much, personally. To me it represents the hardships/conditions the recipient endured during the war. Of course it could have been from very humid storage over the postwar years, but I prefer to think the former. Tell me what you think of it overall, please...

        Robert,

In my opinion that is a stunning cross.... the spidering really makes it for me.
I was never a fan of mint crosses as IMO they never have any character, while this one has it in bucket loads! Great case too.

        Simply beautiful.

        Regards - Danny

Well, thank you Danny. I have to confess it comes as a real shock to hear someone express such desire for a cross in this condition. We're of like-mind. Thank you for your positive reply, friend.

Nice cross Robert, it reminds me of blood pumping through veins as though the cross were alive!

              Kevin,

I've always known your weakness for Meybauers. Good to hear from you.

P.S. The Klickitat is low and clear right now, the martins are in eating all the winter-run.

Its a great looking set. I love the veins through the core as well. Thew last shot is my favourite.

Thank you one and all for your comments on the cross. Now I have a request to ask of you, please. I've scanned the same cross that I took shots of with my digital camera. Which do you prefer, the scans or the photos from my camera? Here are the scans...

Both are useful for different purposes. Again that last one you took with it sitting in the case just looks great.

                              Thanks Tony,

I agree with you, both have their purpose. The scans of the maker mark came out much better than with the camera. But, the scans look lifeless, almost 'cold'.

                              Thanks,
                              Robert
