No, you can't be too careful. There are many fake spanges that look very close to an original. Even the B.H. Mayer has features that resemble a Schinkel and raptor. Look to the same place to compare. Some original Mayer spanges have the same pin assembly as the raptor fake.

Yes, as Darrell says, an original spange and case. And yes, a Mayer indeed.
I just saw this spange on a website; don't remember where but I remember the catch being closed down.
