    Meybauer EKI, early unmarked...

I know this is an insignificant EKI, but it's a missing link in my Meybauer lineup of crosses. I still like it immensely.

Goes all the way back to 1914, or maybe further...

            Mm EKI

Congrats on a fine EKI to add to your collection of variants.

              Thanks Petopoint,

Nick was getting a little sidetracked for awhile thinking about Miss Monroe.

Indeed a nice Meybauer "early" pin.

                  Thanks Gew44,

I recently saw a Meybauer with this type of pin with a '7' stamped in the center of the pin. First one I ever saw like that.

Hello Robert, The early Meybauer EKI is a favorite of mine and is the cross that that attracted me to EKI collecting, somthing about that early pin I find beautiful.

Your posted example has a great look and patina, I have also seen a few 7 marked early pin types but they are tough to come by!

                    Happy Hunting!

                      Hello Kevin ,

I really like the multitudes of different cores Meybauer used in their '39 crosses, so many different date designs.

IMO the early Meybauers are in the little group of the nicest EKIs, good catch Robert.

                          Thanks Fabri,

I've learned to like them over the years too. I find a lot of Meybauer cores inside of '23' frames. They must have had a partnership.

Yes, I agree with your point, many "23s" have the 1939 Meybauer date but all have the 1813 Meybauer date indeed.

                              Well,

I never thought to study the 1813 date, Fabri. That's interesting. I've got a marked '23' EKII coming soon, which has the '23' obverse core half. I'll study it when it arrives.
