Meybauer EKII, possibly 1st core...

I have seen this core just one other time, in an unmarked EKI with the 1914-style pin. This cross is unmarked as well. Some features to point out are: the long nose on the '1', the nice unflawed beading, and the less pyramid style swasi. IMO, I believe this core to be the first of many standard '39 Meybauer cores. Opinions are welcome...

Interesting you should mention this ! Comparing the ones I have to yours .
The 2 crosses I have are very different in die wear .... but both are marked - 7 !
The front of mine shows both types of Swastika - left the steep shoulder flange and on the right the wide shoulder flange - producing the noticable different bottom cut outs . The front dies are very close but not quite the same . The cutouts of the 9s - the top thickness of the 3 and the squered base of the top flange on the right date . The one on the left has a 'clogged' die on the nose of the 1 .... so it looks short !

The reverse : well almost 3 types ... my right one closest to yours .
Note on mine the right foot exstention of the 2nd 1 - connects at an angle to the bottom of the 3 . The nose of first 1 - on the right cross has been repaired - shortened and it seams to show some trace of a "plug" !

I've never seen a cross with the plugged '1' as in post 4 before. That's new to me. I started a thread on the many Meybauer cores; you may remember it. I was fortunate to find an early Meybauer EKI with the same core as the EKII starting this thread. It has the early pin and is unmarked. I'll post it here when it arrives.

Your frames show severe wear, my goodness. I don't think Meybauer ever refurbished their frame dies.

Here's a photo of the early Meybauer, taken by the seller. Note the nose on the '1'; I believe it's the same as the EKII.
