    Original or Copy

Hi, just thought I would throw this into the mix to see if anybody else had a view. This week Carsten Baldes had a Knights Cross for sale, he had another for sale last week and if my memory serves me right has sold several others this year. Carsten took over Detlev Niemann's site and again, if I remember correctly, Detlev was selling Knights Crosses on a very regular basis. I recently read a good post on this site regarding original DD SS helmets it was suggested that the vast majority of original pieces are now in collections and generally pass from collector to collector and as a consequence any dealer who had several for sale should be treated with caution. Which brings me to the point of this post, are Knights Crosses copied so well that it is now impossible to tell originals from copies?

    Hi

A knight cross is not a rare award, and some of the same items shows up more than one time. There are good knowledge about most variants of the knight cross,
and some types I would feel quet safe buying. The cased Juncker from Baldes last update, seems like a very very nice cross

I have not yet bought from him, but it seems like that Baldes is one of the good guys and sell some fine items.

    About Detlev

I think time have run from a few of the items he sold as originals. He just got outdated with new research and knowledge... But in general
    he also sold good items.

Its always good to do own research before buying from any dealer.

    Best
