KVK1 - Is this late war or fake?

    Hi Guys,

I picked up this KVK1 in an auction lot. It looks like it's had a hard life but there are some traces of silvering remaining on the arms. The reverse hardware is pretty distinctive and I've never seen hardware like this before. It has a maker mark '3' but this is not in a box, like I thought it was supposed to be. Is this a fake or a late war example?

Thanks again for looking and for any comments.

    Best regards,

    Guy

The pin setup looks 'Deumer' to me,I know normally the'3' is in a box,but it could be a varient,in the EKI book there is an EK Deumer with a plain '3' on the pin,but this is just speculation on my part, lets see what others have to say.John

          Any more opinions?

Thanks, John, I appreciate your comments.

I would be very grateful to hear opinions of others - I would really like to know whether this is for the crud drawer or a genuine wartime example.

Thanks again for any comments - I know there are a lot of experts here.

Is it a rare mark? I have one KVK1 with swords and one KVK1 without swords both marked "3", and got them cheap...If they are, job well done on my part
