I just got this nicely vaulted EK1 marked L/16 for Steinhauer & Lueck. I wanted to post it here for opinions. Any comments on this item would be welcome and appreciated.

Are the die flaws on the 9 o'clock arm an indication of when this cross was made? Thanks in advance for any feedback on this item.

Hi Chris,

It's a nice worn original.

The flaws may say something about period of manufacture -- at this moment it's hard (for me) to say whether dies may have been duplicated as they failed, or what. I am quite convinced dies could be duplicated rather readily, so flaws may just be evidence of the lifespan of the die, rather than the period of the cross.

Anyway in my opinion it's a later mid-war example.

This was mine and Chris got it in a trade, The photos do not do the patina justice petopoint as in hand it has a patina that speaks! a real nicely vaulted cross also!
