    1939 EK 2nd Cl

Can someone give me an opinion on thi cross as I am not certain it is good. Ring is thinner than normal and the frame color is a bit odd to me.

Seems I recall seeing one like this on some thread some time back....as I recall , it was deemed a repro , and one of the ways they said to tell was only the front half of the top ring was soldered, and the back wasn't. Its been some time since I recall it, so I may need corrected , but the strange color of the frame, uneven numbers for the dates, frame coming apart ,and wrong paint , makes me suspect you are not far off in your assessment. So let's see what happens now and what other opinions pop up.

The half-solder doesn't worry me too much, but the pix are kind of fuzzy, so it's hard to say. At a minimum, it looks to me like it's been cleaned/polished & repainted.

        Hi Ron,

Your instinct is correct; this is a postwar copy probably by Souval with their "new" frame design. Grueni aka Daniel did some research on this type.
