Help needed - hit by con artist - a sad day !

Dear members of this Forum : ... a sad day !

As the title of this thread states I am quit sure now that I have been hit by an con artist . An transaction I had been working on for an month now has gone bad . I thought I had done everything carefully enough inspite of some odd events .

Things started unraveling when communication stopped and I found an award that belonged to another member . This was the 3rd time I had gone through all forum sections looking for this German Eagle award and unfortunetly never came across it in the first 2 searches .
I caught his lie - too late now - that I did not receive --> All brand new pictures !!!
I have been trying to contact norsk41elv - Jo'rn . owner in 2010 of this award .... through the forum . I have have located him , but not heared from him yet .

I posted this request for help in the Civil Organization forum yesterday .
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=636952

I am hoping Jo'rn has sold his award and possibly got the real identity of the receipient/seller . ... a person from Greece but works in Romania as the seller indicated to me .
He goes by the name of : TASSOU Nikolaos and uses also a name in Greece to send internet payments to - in care of Karra Kosta . Online signing name - karrarask !

I fear the worst that we have been hit by a con artist for this and 73 other awards . This group of awards I bought are only a small number of a really impressive large collection . The seller was communicating daily for the last 3 weeks and Tuesday morning everything suddenly stopped after the first partial payment was made . I am out about 5000.- dollars right now . Daily emails have been un-answered .

As he has used pictures that were not his - I bet most pictures he sent me -100s !!!- may be a long time accumilation of stolen pictures .
As so many awards are involved her a chance some one may have dealt with this person in the past . The money is probably gone and trying to file at least a complaint with Romanian Authorities . Any help and suggestions with this matter is much appreciated here or by PM .
Would need some local person to perswede him to return the money .

Here the award that started it all and following only some pictures of the collection .... just to see if some one knows who this belongs to .

    Regards , Douglas and Wife

This link was over at War Relics! I remember helping shut this guy down about 3 or 4 months ago. He posted in classified section and someone recognized the collection. Ade Steveson may have more information! Hope this helps!!

              Sad story

All of these pictures are from my collection here in Norway.
I have not posted any of these items for sale, so you are clearly exposed to a fraud ! I still have the whole collection.

I hope you are able to track this scumbag !!

              Regards
              JT

                Hi Sam :
Just look at the forum and this con artist had taken and used absolutly every single picture that belonged to norsk41elv - Jo'rn . This guy goes by the name- Nikos - had been at this a few times even at auctions recently !!
Some information is slowly surfacing .

What a scum-bag .... I fear this will happen more and more - it shows the importance of tagging your pictures ( I should do it more ).
If you paid via Paypal or Creditcard, normally the payments are insured ( till a certain limit of course ) and you might get refund.
If you paid cash or IBAN, the I fear the worst - unless you file complaint with the police and provide them this chaps details ....

Sad to read how an honest collector gets canned like this ....

Maybe Pawel Nowak is at it again. He uses pictures lifted from the internet .

Ahhh good ole Pavel, he almost had me and a few others with a DKiG scam. I almost hope it's him as I would hate to think someone is stepping into his shoes. Please tell us you used a cc or paypal. I never do a wire transfer unless I know the person well. I had a very upstanding collector on here once insist on sending me the item first before I paid him. Then I did a wire transfer. I was impressed someone wanted to send the item before payment. Goes to show that there are a lot of good people on here.

                          Jo'rn :
This guy had gone to extremes to deceive . He had convincingly demonstrated to me that he had the collection in hand . He even switched awards in different places in the actual frames and even on the wall to eliminate any doubt that he was handling the awards and actually taking these pictures . It seams now at one time you must have posted all these re-arranged frames he used .

The thing is that I stumbled on to him looking for crosses and offered me a cross - which to me appeared to be a post war 65 marked KC that I was going to use as a filler for the real thing at the appropriate price . I only happen to ask if he had anything else .
Here the story really takes off with his father-in-law passing away some time back and after asking her - 2 days later that his wife's mother has now decided to break lose and clean out the room . She apparently never liked his collecting and that collection in the house ... nor did any other family members . After a 60 km drive to get to her place he took these pictures .
Emails went on almost every day depicting parts of his day to day life - a friend of his was killed 2 weeks ago and an exert from his almost last email
All of the large amounts of email are available to anyone who wants to read them to get the real idea of the extent of lies which I only just touched generaly,,, like out of a movie !
Don't remind me of our Christmas this year ...this brings tears to our eyes .

The IC from the last picture is not from my collection.

Is not this a clear police matter?

You have his email address, phone number and bank account number.
The police should be able to track something in this case.
Check also in case of home insurance or contents insurance can cover anything?

Possibly one of our Greek forum members can provide help?

                              Regards
