Knights Cross - could it be good?

I saw this cross as well and here are my observations (albeit with my relatively untrained eye). His pics were crap, especially of the front.
* There is a flaw evident in the bead on the upper right side of the 6:00 arm that I have seen on the plethora of original Lazy 2s shown here on the Forum. The flaw is that one bead seems thinner than the beads above and below it.
* The "3" in 1813 has a pronounced dip in the top bar. I have only seen this characteristic in the pics of accepted original Juncker Lazy 2s with the wide swastika (that this cross has).Attached Files

* The crosshatching appears crisp and conforms to the examples shown here on the Forum for accepted/known originals.
* The size, font, and strike of the markings (although reversed are mentioned in Gordon's book as being rarely encountered this way) are dead on to those found on originals. The spacing off center appears consistent with originals, but again being reversed.
If this was a repro or attempt to embelish an original cross wouldn't a faker try to conform it to as close to textbook as possible??
The seller said he acquired this in 1986 from a well know dealer in San Diego for $1,600. That was for the cross alone. The repro case and ribbon were added later to make a complete set for display.
I'm a rookie on these, but from what I saw in the characteristics I thought it had a chance.
Does anybody have better pics of the front?Attached Files

Oh Jesus ....another pointless RK autopsy.....am I the only one bored to tears from these multi paragraphed opinions. Where no one can agree, and everyone had.a different opinion, and that lead it to precisely nowhere.
Knights Crosses and bloody TK rings......who in their right mind buys these anymore???Last edited by Obersalzberg; 11-30-2012, 08:24 PM.

Interesting perspective. I would imagine if Leroy would have thought it was crap he would have said it up front, but based on the few pics you can make a statement like that? I think we could all benefit from your expertise Dr. Quincy.
If you're bored to tears go get some excitement in the Tinnies Forum

Cross arrived today. Here are its specs:
Core: Magnetic
Weight without jump ring: 33.37g
Weight with jump ring: 34.82g
Frame height to top of loop: 55mm
Frame sides: 48.25mm
Thickness: 4.75mm
Ribbon: 25 white bands & does not glow
Paint was already removed from swastika at time of purchase in 1986.
Case: No idea? - shorter & wider than "normal" RK case. No channel for loop. Hardware is magnetic and white components do not glow.
I hope these pics help. Personally, compared to the other Lazy 2s posted here, I like it.
Opinions are appreciated!!
