Hi Sepp,

Thx for this awesome thread. What makes me curious is the reason why these brave men were awarded. For Luftwaffe pilots its most of the time easy because you mostly have the "Abschussliste" and when they reached a number of points they were awarded. For the "Heer" it is difficult. Would it be an idea to also mention the reason for presenting the KC or collect these stories if possible?

Each soldier had his military file in which you can find the records why one was promoted to receive any of highest awards. This are naturaly in German language so some translation is needed. I'm sure some of this storrys are shared on the forum, just not under this thread as here is more about each item, not soldier itself.
