      Gerhard Kluge medal group

Kluges Knights cross was damaged when he was KIA by shrapnel in the neck/throat in 1945 as Kdr Feldersatzbataillon 162 on the western front in Euskirchen. Thanks to Peter and Hasse at Military Antiques for helping me take these fine Pictures!

          Helmut Leitenberger KC group

The KC is a nice double L/12. Picture of Leitenberger to the left in visor fighting with the HG division in Italy. Leitenberger was a Panther platoon commander in HG Pz.Rgt. and won his KC in april 1945 for actions on the Eastern front. He was also a veteran from the fightings in France and Africa.

Is there are proveance that this are really Pflanz medals or only a fantasy story from a dealer ?

Well, as many of the other KC groupings in this thread it is very difficult to prove that the medals came from a certain Soldier. As for Pflanz, the Group came from a picker together with other Pflanz items (photo, letters, deathnotice) Pflanz documents are in the UK, can be seen here in WA. Pflanz honour Goblet is in the US.... But as allways, by the piece, not the story.

As for Leitenberger Three of the medals are with initials, rank and name. Came together with his photos and other things many years ago. At that time you did not pay more for a attributed KC. My guess is that his docs still exists in Germany as he is attributed to also have been given the Panzer assault badge "25" in lists on internet. But that is a guess.

As for Kluge his Group was sold by the familly, see his VB and soldbuch paper earlie in this thread. I also have a letter from his son, stating the KC was damaged when his father was KIA.

              Enjoy,
              Petrus

Regarding Leitenberger, I saved this photo of a group attributed to him. Same medals?
