    Unknown ID clasp, some doubts

    Hello,
I found this clasp but I don't know if original, the design like to good one unknown mark.

    Probably made in Buntmetal.

    Any comment is welcome

Thanks an interesting one for sure. I'm not an expert in these but at this point in time I'm inclined to think it's a reproduction. The details on the wreath and legs are a bit soft and the entire perimeter of the reverse seems to lack a proper finish that I've come to associate with authentic items.

    Regards,
    Stu

I do not like it either.
Soft details, and a rather rough edge.

        Knock-off L/11 Spange

        Gew44:

It looks to be a 'knock-off' of an "L/11" Spange that is around with the same 'SPACE' in the date '19 39'. This spange was discussed about 1 month ago on here. Your spange isn't hand-finished or 'tweaked' to smooth down the rough edges that are showing in the photo.

I don't think it's okay after comparing it to mine because I also noticed your 'prongs' are too short when comparing both images together. Your best bet is to check for that thread from before. I think it was in the "Cross" Section.

Many thanks to all for time spent for me, it was the same thinking when I saw this clasp, probably fake, but is better to ask member WAF.

I've tried to ask more photo, I hope these are more sharp than the firsts

          Sorry for my English.

Opinions are very divided on this one, about 50/50

I wouldn't buy it, but I know some advanced fellow-collector's that do like it.

So it's up to the buyer this time, no proof from either side....

I am one who likes this type. There are copies of this type, and I don't know if yours is authentic, but I do think this type was made during the war.
                      Best regards,

I see a clear ( to me) sigh of casting here. Look at the bottom of the Clasp, and you can see what appears to be a seem.

I have now looked closer at the picture of the upper edge (The head) and see a seam there too.
