Nicely frosted EKII, Congrats on adding a nicely preserved one to your war chest.
What are the markings I see on it's ring? Number?

            Hi Fabri,
I would agree its nicely frosted, appears the 9 and 3 dip below the 1 and last 9 on the obverse date.
Nicely painted core too, with no rust etc.
            Is it magnetic?

            r John

Yes, beautiful. And the textured paint is super, especially on the
                swaz and dates. John

                  Hi Fabri,

A very unusual cross, and I am at a loss to identify it.

You did ask for comments, and I am going to play the Devils advocate, so please forgive me when I say..... I don't like it!

I am not questioning its authenticity, and it may just be the photographs, but in the pictures in posts number 2 and 3, the frosting appears to be more like the later 'silvered' 1957 style rather than the 'white' frosting we all know and love.

Am I wrong?, is it just the lighting in the photographs?

                  Regards - Danny

                    Hi Fabri,

A very nice one, original in my opinion, but these things are always best determined in-hand. I wonder who the maker could be?

For me, after the numbered EK2s are all identified, studied and collected, the only interesting ones left are the variants, the unknown makers, and the unusual designs. Until they are identified, they remain fascinating little mysteries to keep our thoughts occupied

There is something in this one (not the date design) that reminds me of a "40."
                    Best regards,
                    Streptile

                      Hi Frabri :
Had a closer look . The frame is the less common S&L 2nd frame . Mine is marked with a 4 and has a S&L 1st core in it . Has the same little flaw starting on the right lower inside corner .
Have to see if I can place the core yet .

Really thanks all for comments and help, very appreciated.
I 'll try to answer to some questions.

petopoint: ring in unmarked but there are some signs, but I 'll make another check.
John: yes it 's magnetic, I add dimensions: about 43,90 x 43,95 mm.
Hagen: thanks but I too need your help.
Danny: I know the '57 EKs just a few so I 'm not able to make a good comparison. But they looks to have a different quality than this one that is very detailed, 2nd don't look to me a cross that comes from the known factories still alive.
I believe it 's a wartime EKII. I 'll try to make new pics, maybe we van kill this doubt at least.
Trevor, John, thanks for your comments.
Douglas, I have not understood what is the little flaw, please can you explain better ?
In my opinion it 's not the same frame but just very close, mine has a T in the inner corner at 11 hour .

                            Hi Douglas,

I don't know what maker is behind this EK2.
But imo it is not a EK1 maker and not from S&L.

This is what I was refering to as flawline .
