    New Arrival

This little gem arrived through the letterbox today. I'll leave it for comment before continuing with the story.

    Hi Gordon,
unusual swords (the hilt decoration ??) are these private purchase items / variant pattern.

I wonder if one of those will ever drop in my mailbox.

Well now!!! This is just amazing to say the least....

This is the same cross offered for opinion by Dave-B some days ago and it was poopoooed by the same fellows who are now bug eyed about it!!!!

Is it knowledge that causes comments or are (they) influenced by the holder/owner of the item?

The Cross and attachment were offered for sale....withdrawn...and now are here! Small world with these Knight's Crosses.

                    Dave

Its not the Cross that's interesting here. Its a bog-standard original Steinhauer piece. As Ashley picked up on right away, it's the Oaks/Swords that are of special interest and posted for comment.

I have only ever seen one other set like this with the massive swords, in the collection of author /historian David Littlejohn.

I'm interested to hear what people think.

Huh? Except for Peter nobody in THIS thread commented in the OTHER thread.

I like the RK and know too little about swords to know if they are desirable because they are somewhat special (that is my guess) or bad.
                          Cheers, Frank
