Hello, as you all may know im doing a bit of research and i found out that 100,000 spanges were awarded. But how many 1st class and 2nd class does that make?

Spange
According to "The Iron Cross First Class, by Maerz & Stimsom" there were 29,381 first class and 102,225 second class awarded by March 1942. A few more were awarded after that date but not many. JimComment

The number in our book is the number of Spangen shipped out to the responsible and possible units, not actual award numbers! And for the total Wehrmacht!
I recently got another piece of dead solid information regarding actual award numbers per 28. February 1945 (but Heer only):
1. Class Spange: 5,929
2. Class Spange: 33,370
