    Spots on EK 1.er Klasse

    Hello,

I was looking to one of my crosses in my collection en see very many tiny spots on the arms.
I'm wondering what the are, it it a kind of corrosion
Or maybe just silver thats is going black.
It is onley on this left side.

Then the back, it looks like this medail has stored for years on his back and that caused a print of the pin, is this a good statement?
Could i be this print is come there due sunlight?

This can be found on early 1957 EK1 as well ... I assume the frames were "silver sprayed" before assembly ( what would account for the "pin mark stripe" next to the pin ).

      Hello Matthieu,

Thanks for your reply. I Don't lnow the silver finish is sprayed on Ek's.
Maybe that is the same reason way the arms on pic no. 1 have these spots.

I agree, but I think you meant to say after assembly. The "pinstripe" () is where the pin partly blocked the spray.

In my opinion this was a technique done only very late in the war.
