Prinzen '39 EK1's...myth?

Can someone clear up for me whether there is in fact a Prinzen version of the '39 EK1....or is it fantasy.

I'm sure I remember reading here that Gordon Williamson, in all his years (that came out wrong!) of collecting, has never seen one he considers genuine, and yet my Bowen book pictures two (pg178).

So what is it....fact or fiction??

In almost 40 years of EK collecting I too haven't seen one that was I was comfortable with as a period made '39 prinzen.

Being of the never say never and never say always school of collecting; I'm hopeful that a genuine example exists as my collector's spirit needs a quest.

I know of the ones shown in Bowen's but the details are lacking about them.
