    Late war Zinc EK1 - Any info/pictures?

Does anyone have any pictures or info concerning late war Zinc EK1s?

    Thanks

    Kevin

    Dear Kevin,

That would rather be EARLY war EKs. In contrast to other badges, zinc core Iron Crosses are early war, before much more strict LDO guidelines kicked in.

There are also several good pictures of zinc core EK's on Kai Winklers site.

Many thanks for the pictures and info.

I have been offered a zinc EK1 for a very reasonable price and wanted to have a little background info before going into the deal.

I was led to believe that zinc crosses were late war productions as with other medals of this era - many thanks for setting the record straight.

I have been told that the cross has a marking '113' on the pin. I am led to believe that this represents the maker, Herman Aurich.

113 on the pin? Run away! No such original. It will look like this and is a fake:

                  Frank,

This is why I pay $25 a year to be a member of this forum .

You have just saved me £72.

I was doing some research myself but could not find any reference to HA, Dresden making EK1s.

                  Many, many thanks!

                  Kevin
