Its one of Rettenmaiers quality stamp symbols. There are sometimes found on the pin as well as the back of the cross

That 'Diamond' shaped mark is not found often . Rettenmaier crosses display a range of strange small marks(38) on their EK1s - in different places - and a few combinations as well .
I have a L59 cross with that mark also , which was a special order struck in coin silver and according to the company letter , this pin mark indicates that real silver was used ( abriviated suplier mark ) .
Amongst all these marks we probably have : content marks, suplier marks , inspection/quality control marks , possibly even repair and replacement marks . To the most part these marks are still quit a mistery .
The back of your cross shows cleaning marks - except the pin .
Mine has 2 --> positioning lines -- within which I would think these marks had to be placed ? Any closeup of your mark ?

          Cheers, Douglas
