    Unmarked EK1

Hi guys, been a while since I got an EK. This one has a bit of rust unfortunately. The anti rotation pin is on the bottom edge. Please tell me what you think.

It is strange, as well as the pin being on the bottom, as you can see it has a vent hole.
      Not a feature seen often?

        Hole and pin.

        And cross hatching on frame?

Ah.... thank you. I just got this EK, it came to me from the grandson of a collector. This EK came from a militaria shop in Wales over 40 years ago.

I would say this type is currently in a grey area.

Some believe, some do not, and it's very interesting right now to be witnessing the vetting/research process -- for EK wonks anyway.

Also: let's see the disc. They're distinctive.

Here it is. The thread on it is considerably shorter than the screw hole on the cross.

If I did not read the discussion on these ek, I would never have doubted they were ww2 produced. Construction wise, it is convincing in the extreme.
