    why isn't everything this easy:

alot of my EKII's have difficult to read ring markings...
Not this one! as clear as day. Is that a characteristic of the maker, or a lucky shot?
I'd just like to share the pics, and see if any other members would share their finest 'ring-stamps'

How is the quality of the cross itself? I saw one of these at a show recently and the core was very badly done. In fact, the "1813" appeared to have been struck twice!

I have a 128 and the maker stamp is very deep and clear. Not as crisp as yours but you can still read it from a foot away! Its a wide frame right? The quality of the core is very good and the swaz is high resulting in some paint loss.

Of note is that the 8 is larger than the 1 and 2

Well George, probably not the best cross to judge condition, but you can see through the rust that the quality of the core is very good on this one.
And yes (in the absence of a decent measure) I think the frame is larger than the norm...

It looks good to me, but I agree that someone has removed the paint from the rear.
maybe the paint they used doesn't 'stick' too well to these, after all the years.

They all look good to me but they all look as if they had a hard life! MM 128 is S. Jablonski & co. Posen

If the guy is still offering the cross I saw at the next show I guess I'll pick it up. It doesn't look like I'm going to get a better one!
