Actually.......the word is that this seller is an American living in Latvia. This same brand and assortment of fake EK's are also being sold (or at least being offerred for sale) on eBay by a guy from Spartanburg SC.

It's Not Us He's Selling To

            Hi Doug,
I don't think "MAXUTAZ" or whatever the hell he calls himself cares about us. It's the novice, uneducated-in-the-hobby collectors that is his true aim, and believe me there are MANY to go around. This CRAPmoremad should not fool even the average EK collectors who do a little homework at their special interest. It's the young ones who just want a quick, "bargain" buy just to say they have "one" in their collection, not taking into account any of the proven / known characteristics of real ones. I can't speak for everyone, but I remember when I first started ( about the 1st 9 Mos to a year ) I was so damn gung ho I wanted every piece I could get my hands on : Kriegsmarine, Luftwaffe, Heer, HJ,
Political, it just didn't matter to me - More,More,More - Quantity not quality, and it didn't matter whom I delt with as long as I got a piece " I DIDN'T HAVE" It's just too bad it took so long to come to my senses. Just thinking of the couple thousand I lost to "CRAP" from the dealers like the above mentioned really gets my goat. One motto I usually tell newbies I encounter: "READ BEFORE GREED"

              Ditto!

Having been screwed by this very guy early on in my collecting career, I second everything Eric said. It only takes one or two screw ups to realize that if it's too good to be true, it usually is. Although a lot of folks on this site are (understandably) hesitant to critique items, discussion groups like this combined with reference books are invaluable!
