    RK Opinions please

I have had this RK hanging on a tunic for years. I guess its time to face the
music. Obviously, it is quite beat up, well used. Either it has seen alot of use or somebody did a good job of making it look this way. The core has been painted, and a poor job at that. I remember when I got it the swaz had a thick layer of black gunk on it. I removed as much as I could without taking any paint off, but some of it still remains on the edges of the swaz. The dimensions are correct, but I have no way of weighing it. If its a fake, it sure
has a nice feel to it. I almost forgot, the core in not magnetic. I have been watching the threads on RKs for some time now, but I still have no clear idea of what this is.
    Thanks, Paul

                  Hello Paul,

I was just up, in Stillwater, last week, after visiting my family in Holdingford (Stearns County). You have a lovely city, on the Saint Croix River. I wish I could give you good news on the Knight's Cross, but the entire shape shows that it was poorly filed and fitted. It would look great on a uniform display, but falls far short of the quality expected on an original Knight's Cross.

This ius the type I use for display on my mannequined uniforms, crosses made in the 1960's and 1970's for collectors.
