It's already late and my eyes are tires BUT somehow I can't get myself to call this one a fake right away based on the pictures provided.

It is certainly not one from the known and accepted 5 manufacturers....it is also not a S&L or a Paul Meybauer.

The metal frame around the enamel of the swaz does look a little too fat, the wreath design looks a little odd as well...at least compared to the known manufacturer.

The layered starburst, the silver disc, the red enamel around the wreath, the rivets are nothing I've seen before on the comon fake DK's....

The hinge, pin, catch and date look a little like the "Unbekannter Hersteller-Schwer" in Dietrich's book...the sunburst however does not have the peakish tips...

What is the weight of the cross?
Could you snap some better pictures of the date and some details pix of the wreath?


I may chase a ghost here but there is something I like about this cross....


Maybe Dietrich will chime in now and make a fool out of me but hey, this forum is all about education and I have still so much to learn about these crosses

new day and fresh eyes.....it still does not scream "fake" at me...

Well, it seems like the general opinion is clearly ... so I learned something new on this one.... probably the nicest fake I've seen so far.
