    I searched for years for this cross. Never owned one before.

              The numbers are quite different to the other crosses I've seen here. That's a beautiful example. The hard work paid off.

                        Is the frame tightly affixed to the backplate? (Mine's been opened and then closed again.)

                            George, the seams are tight with original solder. At the 12 o'clock position there is a small gap where it may not have been soldered at all, but that's it.
