    1st Pattern Spange Recovered

Thanks to a recent Thread that made me frantically hunt for one of these that I thought I had destroyed as a fake a few years ago!!
Happily I'd merely banished it to the junk box and not broken the wings off it or melted it down to a glob as was the fashion with "fake spange" a while back

The only thing broken is one of the prongs which I seem to remember was done by me, trying to find an MM.

It's like receiving a new and unexpected treat.

Thanks to the spangen heads for enlightening me..You know who you are the 3 of you

Very nice one, congratulations. This type also exists with a noticeably "soft detail" left (facing) claw, maybe a later strike. I've had one of those mounted on a tri-fold ribbon that was just amazing.
        Best regards,
        Streptile

A perfect example of why you don't destroy items judged as fake , but keep them to remind yourself of items you got chinga'd on, and sometimes ,....as in this case...you find opinions are not always correct when given a ..it could be as high as 10% of items deemed as fakes... then destroyed , are NOT. Keep your fakes , and they can remind you of what to watch for in the future, if you can't return an item. I got a thumbs down on a cuff band almost two years ago that was original, and lost out on the deal due to the forum opinion...but in that case i could have put it on hold for a while , then if it was deemed not original taken it back, so a good lesson for others , and congratulations on your save.....but isnt it funny how fickle we can be on items.
