Knights cross souval copy ? Advice needed

    Dear Members,

I am going through my collection this weekend and I came across this Knights cross, which I bought with a collection about 15 years ago.

The rest of the items were all original, but I assumed that this Knights cross
in this type of presentation box, was a Souval copy from the 1950/60s.

The box is wider than a normal Knights cross box approx 3 3/4 inches wide
    and 5 1/2 inches wide.

The cross itself is marked 800 M9 / 25, the oak leaves are not marked.

There is also a loop in the box which is marked L/52 900 which looks pretty genuine.

Please add any comments and this is open for discussion.

Thanks for all your valuable help.

    Regards Stephen.

          Hi Stephen,

Indeed a genuine Souval KC, but some-one ruined it by adding the fake "800" and M9/25 stamp ( Richard Sieper & Söhne, Ludenscheid ??? ).

The etui is also a postwar Souval version, not so commonly found I believe.
Attaching my cased specimen for reference ...

              Dear Matthieu,

              Thank you for your comments.

I am sorry, I do not understand.

The cross itself is a COPY, not an original or are you saying the cross is original and someone stamped the wrong numbers on it ?

              Thanks again.

              Regards Stephen.

                It's fake as well.

                  Hi Stephen,

Souval are know to produce badges post 1945 and have quite a range of KC.
Hence, this is not a wartime production, as during the war they were not allowed to produce the KC.

However during the sixties, they made a variety of badges for souvenir, but also for the veterans.

This particular KC is made by Souval ( IMO in the sixties ) but the markings on the KC have been added later and are fake.

Actually this particular one could be called fake in total, seeing its made post Mai 1945.
But early postwar Souval pieces are collectable ( at least in my humble opinion ).

As to the OLS, they might be good Souval as well, but I'm less experiences with these ...

IMO this is a very early made Souval cross late 50s early 60s

Look at it another way, if Sovual produced the RK during the war, this is what it would have looked like. As a copy they are pretty good for what they are.
