    Two EK1's on E-Stand

    Do these EK1's look good?

When I did a right-click save-as the default file name was concerning, especially since I purchased the one of the right.

    Thanks
    Pat

I see what you mean. None of us would want to see the word "fake" in the file name. However, the cross on the left is a good Souval frame/core EKI. I'm not sure about the cross on the right but am leaning toward it being authentic. I'm sure Trevor or one of the other EK collectors will assist you shortly.

    Regards,
    Stu

Yep, now you can see my concern, especially since this would be my 1st EK1, and therefore that directly infers I have 0% experience !

      Thanks

I agree with Stu on the crosses. However, I would be tempted to ask the seller to explain the file name.

It is indeed some strange file names.
          "fake%20stuff%20117"

          /Flemming

PS As far as I remember, the "%20" in the filname means "empty space" in the file name = "fake stuff 117"

o, the name is bad , but the cross is a nice Meybauer.
It even has a partial 7 , it sits low on the pin.

You must have the eyesight of a youngster Ben. No way I could/can see that. I don't doubt you are correct though, just that I'd need at least a 10X loupe to see that now.

                  Hi Pat,

I agree with Ben (of course). The one you got is a good Meybauer.

Personally I have some doubts about Souvals with that pin setup and that specific core (I suspect they are postwar creations) but I've never found a smoking gun to prove it so I don't press the point.
                  Best regards,
                  Streptile
