Mysterious EKII 24

Hello Guys

I've found a + signature on my Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Hanauer Plakettenhersteller cross marked on the ring 24. I know that it can be post world war I signature used by that maker in ww2 production, as far as i know the + signature is unknown on world war I crosses.

There is a thread around here somewhere that lists the different marks found on 24s. They include the plus sign like yours as well as the acorn mark and several others. I've never read anything that would indicate why they are on the rings.

At the moment we know 10 of these different marks in the little ring or in the ribbon holder big ring by this marker.

I think so. There were a number of jewellers working in that collective and they may have used those stamps as a way of identifying their respective production. Either that or one of them brought a child to the shop and to keep him out of the way gave him some rings, stamps and a hammer to play with.
