EK1 opinion please

Hello,

I've been offered this for a trade, as an original WW2 EK1, so I would really appreciate if someone with more knowledge can give me a hint about if it's authentic or not.
Also, I would like to know overall shape grade. Is it OK or not? The seller said it's worth 230 US$.

I'm a beginner, more or less, and would not rely just on my opinion ;-)

NOTE: BWB is out of this question, it was on the pics I receive, so I left it there. I'm not interested in it ;-)

It's a good EK1 by S&L, but not worth $230 in this condition. I would pay at most $150-175 for a common, unmarked cross with this kind of damage.

Hi Trever, This EK1 is glued and has the floch top round solder mark and the floch pin set up also? I have this medal and mine is a floch also. Mick.

Mick, the date is set to high to be a Floch. BUT IMO it does look like someone
might have tried to put some glue in between the frame because it is coming
apart. Definitely has some issues.

Hello SNOOPY, I must be seeing things or going a bit mad Please look at this photo of the medal top centre. It looks just like the floch round dot to me. Mick
P.S. Not all floch's have low date's some have higher dates also. I have used peter wiking's floch page with many thanks Mick

Not a Floch by any means and the value is "about" right, and if you can get it for cheaper than this estimate I think you'll be fine.

Well, I do not think it's a Floch but the value (230) is way too high given the condition. Frankly, I'd pass it by unless it was half that price.

In my humble opinion it is not a fake.

Just a cross that has had a hard life.

Streptile called it an S&L.
