Hi there,

It's just the wrong cross on the bar -- should be a 1914 EK2.

On a side note, it's an interesting 1939 EK2 variant which I call the "Lug":



I think if you post the photos in the Imperial section, someone will be able to identify the last medal on the bar.

The "Lug"? I know it should be an imperial EK but the fact that it came back this way means it was like that when the vet brought it back. Im still sorting through all the other medals and insignia. Just curious if anyone has seen such a set up before.

The cross has a small protrusion at the very top of the frame where the jumpring is soldered on that is known as a "lug."

Yes, I have seen other 1939 EK2s incorrectly attached to 1914 ribbons (and vice-versa) by collectors (or veterans). I think, back then, maybe it didn't make such a difference -- just throw anything on there as a souvenir.

Nice EK2 for sure, but wrong for the bar. If you get a correct Imperial EK2 for the bar and a correct ribbon for the TR EK2 you'll have two great items! Nice...
