Very nice crosses, did you get them from the vet or his family? Can we see the reverse of both crosses?
    Best Regards!

Was very close to the vet and received the medals from his wife after he passed away. Here are the reverses:

Awesome crosses, great way to obtain them. Honorably.

Very, very nice, and am glad to hear you had a good relationship with the veteran and his family.

The DKiG looks like a Godet - is it marked on the underside of the pin? Can we see some close up photos of the date, or maybe the lower half of the front?

I don't see Herr Einhellinger listed as a Ritterkreuzträger - does his wife have any documentation that could possibly help revise some databases?

It does look like he earned some other very significant awards and was a well decorated soldier - does his wife have the other ones, so that you can help ensure his honors stay together and well preserved?

I agree, looks like nice Godet.

Compared to the by far less good conditioned version I have (http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...28&postcount=4) the arrangement of the rivets matches, but there seems to be a difference in the needle-catch-combination.

I don't have Dietrichs book here ... but I also would be curious to see further detail shots of the DK.

                    Thanks.

Not sure who Kev is, but here you go!

I also have his wound badge in gold, his 1957 RK (both cased) and a photo album filled with pictures of training in the Bavarian alps, service in the Caucasus and time spent recovering from wounds in a hospital. A grenade nearly took his leg off, the final injury which earned him the gold badge and nearly kept him from returning to his unit. Unlike most of his unfortunate division, Georg managed to evade Soviet capture and successfully reached American forces after capitulation.

His Nahkampfspange was given to a relative in Germany, from whence his wife is attempting to retrieve it for me. No one has seen it in many years, though, so I'm not certain she'll be successful.

aff.. double mistake ! apologize to Spielhahnjaeger and Kev.

Thank you, it 's my interest, if possible, to see top of the EKI case (to know what is the type that match with this frosted W&L).
