after receiving it and take a good look
it is an L/16

dos steinhauer & luck using this markings ?

is this an original croos or a fake

IF this was real, the L/16 would be correct for S&L.

Interesting this core type is showing up again . A Fat Swastika core is something I have been working on .... not complete .
Most of the members here are not aware that S&L - did - produce a strange fat swastika core -- which is truly 'rare' !!!

I have done up a comparison . The same core as at the start can be found in W&L frames too .... see cross A !
Core in cross B is a bit different and is crisp and even . I back then did not mark the owner of cross B ... so cannot get any more info on it , only that it was deemed an original .

The observational question here is :

Is core in cross A .... a fake ... or a badly deteriated die of core B !!!!

if you take a look at my cross and take a look at cross
they have both the same swastika
there is a difference in tickness of the legs of the swastika
on the same place


could it be if cross A is original that the cross of me
is an W&L which the have maker marked

or are they both copies with different marks

Yes your cross core matches the core in the W&L ... interesting that they do ...
S&L supplied parts to many other makers ... including W&L and Juncker ..etc .
Any tamparing of the frame you can see ??
I do not have the cross A to look at to see if the original W&L frame has been opened or not ??? The frame of cross A is rotated 90 degrees to the left .... Incorrectly incerted cores did happen ... and then it also could be a recent mistakes when re-assembling the cross too ????

Hi Douglas,

I don't think that the first shown EK1 is an original anyway!
I don't know what you try to show us, because not only the core, even the reserve incl. pinsetup and maker mark doesn't match to any known orignal S&L EK1! The frame is the only part what match as Y-frame, known as Standard frame, but w/o the typical S&L mistake. And by show some other W&L bricolage, I'm not convinced! Btw the pin variant is a known fake!

Sorry, but I can't follow you speculation.
