    RK Ribbon Metal Hooks

    Hello all,

Can someone advise how the hooks below were usually used to attach a cross? Were they hooked to a loop feature sewn into to the inside collar of a jacket? Or was there a chain or string of some sort attached to them?

Otherwise, just to confirm, but is it Luftwaffe coloured thread that seems to have been used on this ribbon? Luft cross with hooks seems a little strange, no?

    Thanks and best,

    S

I would think that there were sewn a hook into the collar of the jacket, so it was easier to attatch and remove the cross when needed.

In my collection I have a Juncker "800" with modified ribbon that has the same hooks attached on both sides.
Another Juncker "800" with modified ribbon I have has two eyelets.
Another one only has one hook.

      Best regards

The hooks were utilized in various creative methods. Some w/ elastic bands w/ hook and loop sewn to ends and others w/ hooks attaching to loops sewn into uniform collars. Here are a couple of examples.

I also have an early orange ribbon on a Juncker cross with the same hooks.
