      Question for Dietrich

      Hello Dietrich,
do you, by any chance, know what metal the RK EK stickpin is made of?

I do have a similar "unfinished" RK EK without the pin (don't know if it's original ) which appears to be made of brass.
      (Just wondering)

      regards,
      ben

        Ben,

I have no idea but it is certainly not brass. Zink maybe.

          Hi guys,

can someone answer Larrys question, how Previtera came to this conclusion?

          Thanks

          best,
          Gerd

Gerd the simple guess would be 'misinformation' as there are other errors in the book.

                Gerd,

if you question is why one can tell it's a RK and not an RK, I think the size of 11 mm instead of 8 mm is the determination factor. Maybe that's how Stephen did it.

I know, Dietrich. But i thought, his decision based maybe on another information. What puzzels me is, wouldn´t someone want, that his stickpin isn´t confused with an EK 1- stickpin? You cannot recognize so well, if thats a 11mm or a 8mm stickpin.

                  best,
                  Gerd

                    Gerd,

I completely agree with this judgement and personally I like to have the combinations (which is the 'normal' way). No questions asked, clear as it can be.

Yours look good to me. Mine are zinc, and I imagine that yours are, too.

                          Very nice detail.

                          Cheers,

                                prorege1<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_1579548", true); </SCRIPT>

I am concerned about yours proege1, first off is that you can tell it has been built/put together and not made that way. I would need a providance to keep this in my collection, 1st off as i said you can tell all 3 are differant and 2, they look to be casted atleast a couple of them due, 3, the solder is done not by a maker and is sloppy. the black paint in the crosses are very lumpy and not smothe. now with this said you need to see where it came from from who and from whom he recived it and so on, the pin even tho it looks somewhat good from the little shot i have of it as i said was added to the collection of crosses.

sorry but this is what i can see what is wrong with it.

the one below yours is super and you can sell the quality of it.

                                thanks greg
