RK miniature / stick pin ?

    Gentlemen,
I have this one stick pin which is similar to the one presented on Previtera's Iron Time, page 286. (Marked L/11).
My question is, how one could tell that this indeed is RK and not EK1/EK2?

    L

ps. sorry, I know the pic is quite poor, but my camera refused to focus it close enough to get proper shot.

    Larry,

first: Its a good one, definately.

I think, its probably an EK1, when its a Knights cross, there should also be the EK2 and EK1 i assume.

    best,
    Gerd

      Gerd, Thanks for your comment.
That puzzles me too, because Previtera states in his book that this kind of cross is knights cross.
Anyone have any ideas how Previtera came to that conclusion?

I'm sure this maker has examples of EK1, EKII and RK. The stick pin examples of each would also be of different size. Dietrich and Gregory K. have minis and if you measure the cross exactly, Gregory and Dietrich could tell you which measurement it matches.

          Thanks Brian!

Cross is exactly 11 mm (both width and height).
From tip to top of the cross 60.3mm

Here's a RK with EK1 on a pin. This is the 'normal' way to encounter those. The RK is bigger than the EK1 and measures 11 mm, EK1 is 8.4 mm. From that, your oin should be a RK. The other 'single' RK I have as pins (one with oaks and one with swors) also measure 11 mm.

Sorry, completely forgot the pictures! I don't think those are very common. Especially the higher grades.
