    Two Common EKs, Made Rare Only By The Marks


    J0hnny, I was lucky to get this from the buyer in a very smooth trade.

    Martin, this may not be the third you have seen, because it came from a member here on the forum, so perhaps this is one you have seen before? I agree, it is probably one of the rarest EK1s.

            Anthony, there has been some discussion about the fact that there exist clearly period Mayer EK1s with clearly period L/50 stamps. I think the best guess (and my current belief) is that these were made by B.H. Mayer for Gebrüder Godet, perhaps when the Godet (or the Zimmermann) workshop was out of commission.

            In this thread, really summed up in post 100, are the basic facts as we know them today.
