Hey all, what do you make of these two? I admit, I'm not particularly well versed in these. These are the only two I have as I usually collect porcelain instead of awards.
Anyways the "minty" one on the left is the newest. Appears to be marked but not very well as I cannot make out anything. It did come with an original packet marked Josef Feix & Sons but I know that doesn't necessarily mean that's who made the cross.
The one on the right I've had for a little bit. The ring on it is long gone.
I have a few questions though, as now that I have two and can compare them side by side. First is how the date is flush to the bottom on the left one while there is a gap on the one on the right. Additional, the arms on the one on the left seem to arch up slightly higher then the one on the right. I've tried to show it in the photos as best I can.
Are those discrepancies known variations? I've heard of both 1914 dies being used early on, creating smaller arms as well as a few larger crosses being out there. I'm not sure if either of those would apply here at all.
Thanks for your help.
