    1st and 2nd Pattern EK1 Spangen

    Gentlemen,

I was just reviewing the previous thread on the Juncker EK1 Spange. I became curious about my 1st and 2nd Pattern Spangen. I'm mostly a Combat Badge collector, so really do appreciate your comments on these two awards. Thanks.

    Regards,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

I would like to see the reverses of both badges to confirm, but to me both look like good Juncker badges.

    Congratulations on two lovely examples.
    Best regards,
    Streptile

                fantastic clasps, very rare
                the 2nd pattern L/12 is virtually non-existent!
please remember me in your will
                regards

Now you guys got me curious. I've gotta pull my records to see when, from whom, and how much I paid for it.

I have a combination one piece EK1 and First Class Spange, and an EK2 Spange with Scalloped Date Plaque that I should also post for review. Let's hope my luck holds out!

most collectors don't know much about spangen
so most prices seems to be all about condition, although L/12 will always add a few bucks onto any award

Thanks all. Say what you like about Detlev, he sure came through on this one. My cost at the time, about $290. And not keeping up with these awards, I would have thought the 'scalloped' Type 1 was more valuable!

                          Very very nice spangen Mark.

I don't think you can underestimate the importance of this post of yours way back in 2003 http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ghlight=L%2F12

For Gordon, Thomas, myself and many others, this was the first inkling we had that Juncker was probably the maker of the 1st pattern spange.

Your maker marked second pattern still remains one of the most elusive spangen out there.
