I have a cased Mayer Spange too. Why does it seem that nearly all cased spanges on the forum are Mayer's? Did the others come in cellophane?

              John,

I noticed that, the tapering is not typical, but the hinge/catch certainly seem to be typical so I put the pin down to a genuine variation. Better pics may tell a different story.

Here is a better pic of the back of my spang. Is it a typical pin or a variation. Thanks, DEL

                    Dear Del,

As Mike said, not typical, but the spange looks good in general. I would not worry.
                    Cheers, Frank

With all BH Mayer cases I have seen they have always had this same rectangular press button. <O</O
