New EK1

I am about to make a purchse for my first EK1 for £80 and would like your expert opinions as to its originality before i part with my money.

The obverse is of poor quality, and the pin is not an original example and the maker mark is poorly stamped. I'm certainly no expert on EKs but this one screams Fake to me immediately as compared to the many fake EKs that are out there that of much better quality. With all due respect, if this cross does not immediately seem fake to you, you should study the many historic posts on this forum to get a better sense of what's good and bad. There is a ton of information available here and the guys that frequent this forum are VERY knowledgeable.

If you ever have any doubt about the authenticity of a piece, pass it by and wait for a for sure original example. (There are plenty of them out there! )

Dear Ivan,

There is another thing. Build up a good picture database with pics of all known makers for a badge. In this case, that alone would have told you: no original 50 marked EK1s around.
