    Knight Cross 1957

    Some opinions please. Yes i know the photos are crappy, but the seller have not responded with better photos despite a request from me.
    Note the crack in the soldering.

    I believe that is one of the later types, wirh the stubby oakleaves
    and the acorns, placed high up on the stem. Is that correct?

    The seperations of the rims should'nt hurt unless they get worse.
    The cross does look fairly nice overall though.

      Hi Peter,

      I agree with Ken in that it has the second/later core. I think it might be pre-80s though, as it doesn't look like the finish is of the crude glossy painted type and the suspension loop is not the long matt silver type. I'd be even more comfortable with it being pre-80s if the core is magnetic.

        Hi Peter

        I agree with Mike and Kecon, it is a 70's/ early 80's issue. Mike gave you some good information about that. The crack in the soldering looks like the soldering came off or was not done properly. What would worry me is if it's the result of rust on the core pushing. The photographed side does not show any significant rust, but there could be some on the bottom left corner ( agian could be dust).

        Don't know what to say, if the price is right,it s a nice piece, although not an early issue and much better than the later glossy type.

          Here is a photo of the back. Considering the rust on the core and the crack in the soldering, what is the maximum i should put on table for this one ?

              I would pass on this one altogether and wait for a better example to come along, they are not that rare, save your money for one in better condition.

                    Wise choice Peter. If it was an early example one would close one eye to the rust. This type of rk is not that hard to find and I am sure it will not be long before you find one.
