Nice, but IMO not a set.
This ek is from an unknown maker.

        Packet

I am not updated in the R3 research, but know that there are different opinions of how many of the R3 that can be traced to Deschler.

I know it do not prove anything. But it came from a lot, that looked untouched. And not sold the way a collector would have done it. The seller seems to have no knowledge of the R3 or the deschler firm.

I have mailed the German seller for more information about the items, and the estate that they came from. Waiting on a reply.

Anyway if its from a estate and a mix some how, its interesting its mixed with a Deschler packet of all makers.

I think that it could be a Deschler set because there are few but real traces already discussed in other threads BUT all possibilities/opinions are certainly valid IMO.

Looks like the 'Thick' version R3, measure the thickness Nicolai. Not impossible that the cross and packet came together.

Douglas> My old Deschler R3 weighed 23.65 gr i think.

See this thread for a connection between the 4 "standard version R3's": http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=378027

                  The 4 standard R3 versions.

                  'Thick' 22.90 g
Thicker than the others. Somewhere between 5.05-5.40 mm. Pointy inner corners.

                  'Thin/beveled edges' 19.85 g
With beveled edges and pointy inner corners. Thickness around 4.5mm.

                  'Swaz on base' 17.90 g
Pointy inner corners, "Stippled" core and swastika on a plinth/plateau.

                  'Deschler' 23.65 g
Rounded inner corners, slightly larger and same frame as the standard Deschler crosses.

Weight is from my old ones.

Thanks... its more heavy than my other standard EKs and yes... more thick. I dont trust my weight soo would say the real weight could be around 23-25g

                      24.1 gram Douglas

about 3 gram heavier then the thick version of the unknown maker

As I stated before I can't believe that the other crosses are from Deschler as well.
Maybe they supplied cores to another maker ?
All Deschler crosses I know have the same frame, round 3, L/10 and 1

                        I agree with Ben.

A nice original "beveled" version, but not made by Deschler.
                        Best regards,

                          Thanks Ben .
Surprizing that the weight of these maker unknown R3s sure fluctuates a lot . #1 and 3 of mine have the same frame cut out for the jump ring resembles a Deschler ... where as 2 is quit different . Have a Deschler arriving soon to compare .
