I am not updated in the R3 research, but know that there are different opinions of how many of the R3 that can be traced to Deschler.
I know it do not prove anything. But it came from a lot, that looked untouched. And not sold the way a collector would have done it. The seller seems to have no knowledge of the R3 or the deschler firm.
I have mailed the German seller for more information about the items, and the estate that they came from. Waiting on a reply.
Anyway if its from a estate and a mix some how, its interesting its mixed with a Deschler packet of all makers.
I think that it could be a Deschler set because there are few but real traces already discussed in other threads BUT all possibilities/opinions are certainly valid IMO.
about 3 gram heavier then the thick version of the unknown maker
As I stated before I can't believe that the other crosses are from Deschler as well.
Maybe they supplied cores to another maker ?
All Deschler crosses I know have the same frame, round 3, L/10 and 1
Thanks Ben .
Surprizing that the weight of these maker unknown R3s sure fluctuates a lot . #1 and 3 of mine have the same frame cut out for the jump ring resembles a Deschler ... where as 2 is quit different . Have a Deschler arriving soon to compare .
