    Has anybody.......

    Good day to all;
    I have a chance to buy a box of WW2 German badges and medals plus a few helmets from a vets son whom I have known for at least 50 years.I know nothing about German crosses in gold but there is a cased one that is "black" with patina,very heavy and get this 7 rivets.The case is the one that came with the cross for sure and it is like all the others that I have seen except it does not not have a front catch to hold the top down.The case was made this way and never had a catch.I will take some pics as soon as I pick up the items this week.I looked at the other items and the helmets are 100% orig. and in in exc.He says that these medals came from a German Gen. that was KIA along with about 50 of his men????.I know never buy the story just the items but everything looks alright.My question is has anybody ever heard of a 7 rivet German cross?Thanks for any and all help.

    Hello,

    waiting for Dietrich's feedback on that I'd like to refer to this database here:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/germ...heler_sohn.htm

    I could't find anything about a 7 rivet variant, but for sure Dietrich will know more.

    Looking forward to your pictures of your lot!

      There exist an extremely rare variant of the Type 1 Juncker with 7 rivets. (page 146 ff of my book). One needs to have pictures to make any statement, though.

      I consider the 10 rivet piece in the database at best as a "one of a kind" (but not by Deschler) and at worst as a fake. I tend to think the latter.
