Just picked up this salty EK2 looking for help with the maker. Also is there any safe way to clean these or at least make it to where it does not continue to rust? Thank you all in advance!

Maker '23'. I would not clean this cross if it were mine. The chance of making it worse than it is exists. Just keep it away from humidity if possible.
