It's interesting to note that Walter-Peer Fellgiebel in the "Elite of the Third Reich, The Recipeints of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross 1939-45: A Reference" shows Mannerheim as being awarded the Oakleaves on August 5, 1944. Mannerheim may have physically recieved the Oaks on August 17th.
