    EK1 1914 L/12 early Screwback

    Hi ;-)

I don't know if I should put this cross into the Imperial section, but it's marked with L/12! I think, I need a 1914 EK1 Expert, because it is not a typical WW2 (Juncker or W&L) frame.

Is this EK1 an authentic Juncker? All opinion are welcome ;-)

    Thanks in advance

    Very nice Stefan.

I have the same one. The frame is the one Stimson & Maerz call the "common L/12 type" (p. 106) and is frequently seen on their LdO 1914 EK1s. In my opinion a very nice and 100% original early Juncker. You can also see it is early (probably 1941?) because of the 2-pc SB attachments, but especially because the early Junckers used a very narrow (thin) screwpost. Later they used a wider one.
    Best regards,
    Streptile

The pictures on page 106 are unfortunately too small. Not easy for compare.
Trevor, could you share to us your pictures of this type?

The easiest way to distinguish this frame is by the strange flaws to the beading in a few places. I have shown below some spots on your cross where the beading is "doubled". Of course this frame also does not have Juncker's "crunched bead," but it is not the only one of Juncker's frames that does not have that feature.

I see no end, in getting all known EK1 types!

Very nice EK1, Ben. Hope I can get such EK1 types a.s.a.p!

There IS no end, at least: there seems to be no end.
The more you search, the more odd and rare crosses you find....
